Hey Gang,

I hope everyone has enjoyed the “off season”. With the SOWEGA Grand Prix just around the corner it’s time to dust off the fleet, grease the shafts, and have some fun! Hopefully mother nature will cooperate this year and send some warm weather to Sycamore the weekend of the 19th and 20th. Speaking of the Grand Prix series… man-o-man what a GREAT turn out we had for the last race of the series in 2010. The SOWEGA gang pulled out all the stops by inviting the STORM guys to come out and night race with us. LED’s, glow sticks, and flash lights… Things you typically don’t see too much of at the races, but we had a blast!

The entry form is out for the 2011 Atlanta Spring Nationals. If you have never participated in the Spring Nats you owe it to yourself to make the trek to Atlanta at least once in your boating lifetime. We race hard and fast for two straight days. Eight boat heats (in most classes), 90 heats per day, and some of the best racers in the country make for an exciting event. It is encouraging to see some new blood in the club this year. We have a couple of new members that have been bitten by the bug HARD. It is exciting to see new members come in eager to learn and excited to get that first win under their belt. Welcome aboard guys!
